I obtained my BSc and MSc in Applied Physics/Physics Engineering, with specialization in Nanotechnology, in Italy. I then moved to the UK where I have recently finished a PhD in Physics at UCL. During the last 4 years I was a Postgraduate Research Associate at both UCL and Diamond Light Source which is the UK national synchrotron facility. My area of interest was the study of the magnetic properties of heavy ion oxides with X-ray scattering techniques. The impact of my work is attested by more than 10 high-profile publications, 4 of which as a first author, with more than 130 citations. These experiences have provided me with a set of valuable transferable skills: critical thinking, problem solving attitude, the capacity of working independently and as a part of a team and, last but not least, the ability to communicate effectively my work both orally and in writing.
I have been giving private tutoring for several years to students ranging from GCSE to University level. I have been a lab demonstrator at UCL during my academic career.
