Finding the right tutor for you is really important. Everything counts, from their teaching methods right the way through to their personality or sense of humour.

One-to-one tuition provides the freedom to learn at your own pace, in a way that is unique to you. Sometimes all it takes is some extra time and patience, or a different way to explain something to a specific person. That's why I love what one-to-one tuition has to offer.

When I was in school, I struggled through maths classes until I found a tutor who transformed the subject for me, taking away the fear and embarrassment of not understanding and replacing it with comprehension, confidence and even (shockingly) enjoyment!

She made it fun, something I had never thought would be possible. She took the time to investigate what it was that I was struggling with and targeted areas where I was making repeated same mistakes. And she had patience to go over things as many times as I needed, in as many different ways as she could think of until it clicked.

Experiencing this kind of tuition was both inspiring and encouraging and this is the kind of tutor I aim to be.
