Jonathan obtained his PhD in Geoscience from Trinity College, Cambridge,
in 2014. In 2010, he graduated with the highest first in Imperial
College's Faculty of Engineering (MSci Geophysics). Earlier, Jonathan
obtained 12 A* grades at GCSE - 4 of which were the highest marks in the
UK - and straight As for A-Level (in Physics, Maths, French, and
Although he has worked as a part-time private tutor since 2009, Jonathan
is also an undergraduate lecturer and supervisor (small groups of 1-4
students). He has led field trips to Madagascar and Greece, and has worked as an external examiner for OCR and AQA. At Cambridge, he worked for the admissions department, and has experience interviewing potential undergraduate and PhD students.
Subjects tutored at A-Level include Maths, Physics, Geography, and Geology, (the latter at Degree level too). He teaches these subjects, plus general Science, at GCSE and below.
Jonathan has held academic positions at Cambridge at UCL. He has written
10 academic articles and has contributed journalism to The Guardian and
The Oldie magazine. In his spare time, he enjoys writing, travelling, and
plays bass and piano in a London-based band.
