Having researched the human brain at UCL and Harvard, I have an ongoing curiosity about the way in which learning can be enhanced. My MSc project investigated the effect of humour on our ability to understand complex concepts. I have worked with students of all ages, helping them to adapt a study method that is best suited for them. From primary level, through GCSE, A levels and University, to young professionals taking career-essential exams.
Why I tutor:
Despite our knowledge that every person has a unique brain, most education systems give students a one-size-fits-all approach to learning. Every student I work with is vastly different from the next, so the ongoing challenge to tailor-make an approach to each one of them keeps me on my toes. I get a thrill out of uncovering students abilities, building their confidence and drawing out their skills, rather than just pumping generic information in.
