My specialist subjects are Biology and Chemistry but I also teach Maths and Physics.
Building a strong relationship with each tutee engenders a mutual respect between us, which I think is vital for effective learning. Furthermore, I think it is very important to assess each tutees needs individually so that I am able to deliver the content in a way that makes sense to them.

Im currently tutoring two girls KS3 Science, and one boy GCSE Biology. I really enjoy thinking of imaginative ways to explain and deliver the content, and find it hugely rewarding to see them progress each week. The male client has moderate dyslexia so it has been particularly important to identify his strengths and weaknesses, and teach the content in a way that makes sense to him.
I also take great pleasure in teaching older people how to use computers one day a week at a local Age UK centre.
Last year, I tutored a bright young girl who lacked in confidence through her GCSE Chemistry.
During my final years at school, I volunteered as a teaching assistant at Castle School for disabled children. Teaching these children basic literacy and numerical skills presented a huge challenge, and required much perseverance and patience, but was a very fulfilling experience.
