My specialist area is in business studies, economics, law and finance which I have conducted tuition for small groups and indivduals at GCSE, foundation, undergraduate and MBA level. I specialise in those students who are borderline and who require a crash course so that they are prepared for assignments, exams and assessments. My other areas of competence are in mathematics and national curriculum subjects which I have taught up to GCSE level.
I have an MA in European Economics from the University of Kent which contained units in advanced macroeconomics, advanced mictoeconomics, trade and development, international finance and econometrics. I was awarded an EU Intereg studentship in association with Kent County Council. Previously I worked on a Comett EU stage in Trentino Alto Adige, Italy on a project to promote economic development in the region. I also atended an Italian university as an Erasmus student as part of my BSc(Hons) Applied economics and was educated at former grammar school Campion in Hornchurch.
I have diverse experience in the commercial sector, marketing and in other countries in addition to higher education which has enabled a well rounded approach. By providing programmes to students of all levels and ages it has enhanced communication skills and identified the particular attributes for individual tuition.
At the University of the West of England in Bristol from 1996-8, I acted as a Visiting Lecturer in economics and business management. Simultaneously research was conducted into performance of small and medium sized enterprises in the region where modelling techniques were used to determine the significance of independent variables on growth and development. I was responsible for teaching seminars in applied economics to 1st year students and for the preparation, teaching and assessment of undergraduate courses. I gave lectures, seminars and tutorials and prepared supporting teaching aids such as handouts, overheads, exercises and practicals. I provided face to face feedback and follow up activity to make sure the learning experience fitted appropriately with the overall context of the programme. I also participated in team liaison meetings and administration. I was reliable and available for personal tuition which I carried out with diligence. I collaborated to enhance the learning process and identify areas to improve the syllabus. I have a maturity and sense of social responsibility. In key areas of interpersonal communication I have good face to face competencies. In team based seminar work both in the role of facilitator and supportive group member were carried out. Subsequently I taught at a school affiliated with the British Council in Germany.
I now conduct lectures at Regents Business school in London as module leader at foundation on business management and on economics.
Currently as Programme director on business management at Guildhall college from 2010, modules and topics are offered on each pathway and resources in place so that there are a variety of summative and project based assessment components. As a coordinator of foundation, level 4, GCSE, ABE and edexcel courses, I provide face to face feedback and follow up activity to make sure the learning experience fitted appropriately with the overall context of the programme. I collaborated to enhance the learning process and identify areas to improve the syllabus.
Hobbies and Interests
My other areas of interest are entrepreneurship, innovation and technology and I conduct research in the Creativity and transnational marketing networks at Regents university at Baker Street in conjunction with S.Truman and I.Sirkeci.
